The 80th anniversary of SCTE was also celebrated in the Benelux. This year, the annual dinner for members and their partners took place at a unique location: the Mauritshuis in The Hague.
On Wednesday, April 9, SCTE Benelux and NLconnect hosted the first TechSummit of 2025 at Odido Nederland (The Hague). The afternoon’s theme, "Private 5G – Cowboys or Professionals?", sparked curiosity and perfectly matched the pioneering phase this technology is currently in.
During the summit, three speakers explored the rapidly evolving world of private 5G.
Richard Marijs (Odido Nederland) discussed strategic applications.
Jeroen Meuleman (Geuzenet) shared practical experiences.
Bart Heinink (Greenet) demonstrated how private 5G is being used to build reliable networks in real-world scenarios.
Peter V. (DELTA Fiber) acted as moderator, guiding both the content and the discussion with a sharp eye on the technology’s impact on the industry.
Before the presentations, attendees were given a tour and explanation of a 5G setup. The event concluded with an informal networking reception, where participants reflected on the opportunities and challenges of private networks.
It was an inspiring gathering that showed how private 5G is evolving from an experimental field into a mature solution for business-critical applications.
