On Wednesday, 5 November, the telecom sector gathered for TechSummit Autumn, a joint initiative by NLconnect and SCTE Benelux. The theme—“Green innovation: where technology and sustainability come together”—proved to be the common thread throughout an afternoon full of knowledge sharing, practical examples, and inspiring discussions.
On Wednesday afternoon, April 17th, the first SCTE Benelux Tech Summit of the year took place in collaboration with NLconnect. Over 60 telecommunications specialists gathered at the beautiful Huawei Innovation Center. After a lunch reception, the event began with an insightful tour of the Huawei Innovation Center led by Dennis Tossijn. Following the official opening by our chairman Edo Kweldam, moderator Peter Veerman and three specialists highlighted developments in PON and DOCSIS technology.
David Whitehead from Harmonic discussed the importance and necessity of upgrades and the future of DOCSIS. Eric Zhong from Huawei explored potential transitions from copper infrastructure to Fiber (PON) and shared insights on future speeds. Finally, John Louwerse from VodafoneZiggo explained how they utilize both DOCSIS and XGSPON, emphasizing that transport technology should ultimately focus on services. The event concluded with lively discussions over drinks and snacks.
